A catch-all functionality that is enabled for a specific mailbox will allow you to receive email messages that are sent to email addresses that do not really exist. Otherwise said, if you disable an email address and somebody still sends an email to it, or to any mistyped address under the very same domain name, you will get the message in the catch-all mailbox. Using this feature implies that you will no longer miss an email for any reason, which could be essential in case you are running a company, for instance. Since you may begin receiving unsolicited email messages, you can combine the catch-all functionality with anti-spam filtering software so as to receive only real emails in your inbox. Only one single mailbox per domain can be a catch-all one and email forwarding cannot be set up for a catch-all mailbox.

Catch-all Emails in Shared Hosting

If you host a domain name on our cloud platform and you have a shared hosting account, you will be able to activate the catch-all functionality for any mailbox that you set up under the domain name. The Email Manager section of the Hepsia Control Panel includes quite a lot of features, but it’s stunningly user-friendly, so creating a catch-all mailbox takes only a mouse click. All the email addresses that you have set up will be displayed in this section alphabetically and you will simply have to click the "Catch-all" button associated with the specific email address. Our system will inform you if there is already another catch-all mailbox activated for that domain or if the one that you want to be a catch-all mailbox has email forwarding enabled, so you can either disable the latter feature or choose a different mailbox. Deactivating the catch-all feature is just as simple and requires one more mouse click on the same button.

Catch-all Emails in Semi-dedicated Servers

A catch-all address can be created with a few clicks in case you’ve got a Linux semi-dedicated server with us. The semi-dedicated account will be managed via our in-house built Hepsia Control Panel and you will be able to create mailboxes with any domain name registered there. To activate the catch-all functionality for a particular mailbox, you will have to click the icon with the same name, which will be next to each mailbox. Disabling the feature can be achieved in the exact same manner and will not take more than one click either. If a catch-all mailbox has already been enabled for a certain domain, you’ll get a warning notice. The same goes if the mailbox that you’d like to be a catch-all one has email forwarding activated, as our system will never disable or change anything automatically.
